It should be the first sermon in the 'new thru 30' series.
Some of the highlights from the first sermon:
"Sometimes God calls us to do difficult things in order to know him. We don't earn our salvation - it's the gift of God - it's free. But in order to apprehend everything he has in store for you it's going to require intense spiritual development on your part."
"The word of God is your only offensive weapon to win the fight for your life."
When Jesus was tempted in the desert by the Devil he wielded the weapon of the Word to fight back.
"You need an offensive strategy - to know God's word to the extent that every time the Devil opens his mouth you open God's word and fight back!"
Ephesians 6 - all the items in our artillery to fight this fight of faith.
Shield of faith, breastplate of righteousness, helmet of salvation
But Paul calls the word of God - the sword of the spirit. Only offensive weapon listed. Everything else is defensive.
