A Big Day

I know you wanted a Hall0ween blog, but you aren't getting it yet. I have to catch up with other blogs first. The past few were all from the same day a few weeks ago and I have just been slowly posting them over time.

Last Saturday was Daniel's Dedication. If you aren't familiar with the process, it's basically where the parents stand up to say, "We're going to raise this child in a Christian household. We're doing our best to set a godly example for this child and raise him up so that the decision to follow Christ will be laid out before him and we will encourage him to take that step to trust in Christ as his Saviour." It is not a Christening or Baptism. That is a step Daniel will take when he accepts Christ as his Saviour. It was a big day for our family. We got some good pictures while we were there. Daniel was a trooper. He stayed awake just long enough to get across the stage, and then fell asleep on my chest during the short message. The message was great and was about how your children learn more from watching and imitating you than from the words that come out of your mouth. The service was at 1pm so we were worried about Jeremy, but he did good too! He sat on Pa's lap and wacked him in the face with a stuffed animal teddy bear for a while and was actually pretty quiet for a 2-year-old who missed his nap. The picture in the suit is one of my absolute favorites. It's Daniel the morning of his dedication looking spiffy.

Daniel and Jeremy actually ended up wearing the same outfits at their dedications. Jeremy wore a size "3 months" and Daniel wore a size "9 months". I'm pretty sure they were the same age when dedicated. What a big boy!

Congratulations for your family! What a marvelous time and your kiddos are super super spiffy. How do you look younger, Laurina? Seriously - you look very refreshed and younger. My second kid didn't do that for me........

You're right, what a perfect day. But you're confused about Jeremy and Pa. Jeremy was just showing Pa how soft his toy was. Love Pa
